FT Nanny needed to care for a sweet 10 month old infant.

A playful, warm-hearted nanny is needed in Forks Township to care for a lovable 9-month-old baby! If you truly delight in spending time with babies and enjoy creating a nurturing, fun-filled environment each day- this could be your dream job!

I. Position Summary: 

The primary responsibility is full-time weekday care for our 7-month-old daughter, typically between the hours of 8:45 am and 5:15 pm, with one earlier morning (7:45 am) required every other week. The overall hours will be somewhat variable (with notice) and will add up to 40 hours/week, inclusive of child-related tasks (e.g. meal preparation and shopping, laundry) and household tasks (e.g. light cleaning, dishwasher), with occasional nights/weekends/date-nights arranged in advance. The qualified candidate would be able to provide a nurturing, engaging environment, including planning and implementing activities in the home and community in collaboration with parents.

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be eligible for the Nanny position, a qualified candidate must fulfill the following minimum requirements:

  • Have a High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Have 2 years of direct childcare experience, including infant care, or related professional work       experience (such as daycare, teaching, etc.) which must include at least some infant care.
  • Successful completion of Mandated Reporter Training
  • Successful completion of, or willingness to successfully complete car seat safety training before the start date.
  • Background check demonstrating suitability for this position caring for young children without supervision.
  • Possess valid CPR and First-Aid Certifications or be willing to obtain or renew as a condition of hire.
  • Proficient knowledge of home safety.
  • Possess sound moral character and kind disposition suitable for caring for children of all ages without supervision.
  • Have the ability to perform job-related physical tasks inherent in the care of young children, including: the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, engage in physical play at floor-level, move quickly to ensure child safety, navigate the physical environment of the home and child play areas safely and effectively, possess the energy to physically and mentally engage with a young child throughout the
  • workday.
  • Have proof of current vaccinations including Tdap, MMR, HepA, HepB, influenza, and COVID-19 (including all CDC recommended boosters), as well as immunity from TB and immunity from or vaccination for varicella.
  •  Have reliable and flexible transportation, with backup for unforeseen contingencies.
  • Proficient knowledge of home safety.


III. Essential Job Functions:

  •  Creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for the child(ren).
  •  Arrive at work reliably, predictably, and punctually.
  •  Follow safe sleep principles (per AAP) without exception.
  •  Bathe and dress infants and young children safely.
  •  Change diapers and assist with potty training as appropriate.
  •  Implement discipline according to the family’s preferred parenting style.
  •  Give bottle feeds and actively assist in baby-led weaning, including meal planning, shopping, and food preparation.
  •  Administer oral medications with parents’ consent, when necessary.
  •  Facilitate indoor and outdoor play.
  •  Read age-appropriate books aloud.
  • Multitask childcare and childcare-related tasks.
  • Maintain logs of naps, feedings on Huckleberry app.
  • Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally to drive children to school, activities, medical appointments, playdates, or errands.
  •  Arrange playdates and outings.
  •  Research, plan, and engage in educational activities and crafts.
  • Organize child’s bedrooms and toys.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dishwashing, grocery shopping, tidying up, vacuuming, and maintaining the main area floors, etc.
  • Launder children’s clothes, bedding, and textiles.
  • Coexist with family pets, currently one cat and one young Golden Retriever (direct care not required but can be integrated if there is interest, such as walking the dog with the child).
  • Occasional travel (domestic or international) with family for leisure or work if interested.
  • Consider occasional travel with the family (domestic, possibly international) if there is mutual interest.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the family.
  • No force, shaking, hitting, or spanking will be used to discipline either child.
  • Help tidy up at the end of each workday.


Additionally

  • The nanny will not release children to any other person(s) without prior approval from the Parents.
  • The nanny will not administer any medicines to the children without prior authorization from the Parents.
  • The nanny will not leave the property with either child without prior authorization from the Parents.
  • Nanny shall provide at least two (2) references of prior employers from previous nanny or daycare jobs.
